COMMON QUESTIONS:
WHERE ARE WE LOCATED?
The Walnut Creek Orthopedics office is located in the Shadelands business park in Walnut Creek, just three miles east of the I-680 & Hwy 24 interchange.
DO YOU ACCEPT MY INSURANCE?
Our office accepts most commercial insurances (Aetna, BlueCross*, BlueShield, Cigna, Healthnet, UHC, etc) and Medicare, but it is always a good idea to verify by calling the member services number on your personal medical insurance card. Dr Workman is a participating provider in the John Muir Physician Network for HMO insured patients.
*There are some Bluecross plans (Select, Pathway, Covered California) that are not in network with our practice. We recommend you contact your insurance carrier to confirm network participation.
WE ARE NOT IN NETWORK WITH CONTRA COSTA HEALTH PLAN, or SUTTER SELECT
DO YOU HAVE X-RAY OR MRI IN THE OFFICE?
We offer digital in-office Xray. In the event your orthopedic issue requires an additional diagnostic study, Dr Workman will refer you to an outside clinic for MRI and/or other advanced imaging services (CT, Bone Scan, etc), as indicated and appropriate.
If an MRI or advanced imaging study is ordered for you, our office will send the request to an imaging center (usually Norcal Imaging in Walnut Creek) who will obtain authorization from your insurance, if required. The imaging center will contact you to schedule your study. Once you have this appointment, please contact our office to schedule your followup to review the results. You will need to bring the CD provided to you at the imaging center to your follow up appointment with Dr. Workman.
* HMO patients: you will be notified once approval has been given by John Muir Physician Network. At which time, you can schedule your MRI at a participating imaging center. The results of your study are available to us in our electronic health record system, so you will not have a CD to bring to your appointment. But please contact our office to schedule your followup appointment as soon as you schedule your study*
IS THERE PARKING?
YES. Plenty of on site no-fee parking.
After FAI (femoral acetabular impingement) surgery by Dr. Workman I spent weeks with the group here. They are (**thinking of the best word here**) AWESOME (even that's not enough!!). Everyone on their staff was great!!! Once my rehab was over I even missed getting up a few hours early to see them! It was also great having the doctor so close because they noticed one of my sutures was a little infected so they were able to sneak the doctor over to take a look at it and prescribe an antibiotic. Top notch group!!

I love Dr Workman! He listened to me when my previous Dr would not. He took me seriously and respected the fact I know my body better than anyone else. I knew in my gut something was wrong and he confirmed it. I had a previous knee surgery that did not work out well for me. After a bone scan, the reason for my ongoing pain was discovered. Dr Workman is going to revise my knee and I cannot wait to have it done and finally recover from pain. In addition, all of his staff is wonderful and caring. I would give him 10 stars if I could! I am forever indebted to him.
He replaced my knee on 5/4/17. Back to work 6/27/17 and released from care 8/7/17. He is FABULOUS and I can never speak highly enough about him. Thank you Dr. Workman!!!

The best orthopedic surgeon by far! I've had 4 surgeries in both knees and for the first time after surgery I haven't experience pain nor any kind of complications.
Dr Workman and his fabulous staff are performing miracles in Walnut Creek!
Thank you
